Gyeran Bap (Korean Egg Rice)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 –2 eggs
  • 1 bowl hot cooked short-grain rice
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Optional Garnish:
  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions
  • Kimchi or seaweed on the side

Instructions
 

  • Fry eggs to your preferred doneness (sunny-side-up or over-easy for creamy yolk).
  • Scoop hot rice into a serving bowl.
  • Top with butter, followed by the fried egg(s).
  • Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil over everything.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions, if using.
  • Break the yolk and mix everything together before eating.
